1. All matches will be 8-game pro sets. A match is won when one team wins eight games by a margin of at least two games. If the score reaches 7-all, two games are then played. If a team wins both of these games, the win is scored 9-7 If the score reaches 8-all, a 7-point tie-break is played and the win is scored 9-8.

2. Teams are awarded points based on the number of games won during a match. In addition the winning team will win an extra point. For example a match that is scored 8-6 will result in 9 points being awarded to the Winning team and 6 points being awarded to the losing team. Matches that are defaulted will result in 0 points for the defaulting team and 8 points for the "Winning" team. A total of all points won at the end of the season will determine the final standings of each division.

3. Division winners will receive free Simple8 registration for the next season, as well as a car magnet and a division winner water bottle.

4. There are no play-off matches for Simple8 tennis. The winner of the division is decided by the total number of points won during the season. In the event of a tie, all tying teams will be considered winners.

| 5. Each match has a Contact Date associated with it. Either the Home team or Away team can (and should) make contact with the other team prior to the Contact Date.
Ultimately it is the responsibility of the Home Team to make contact with the Away Team prior to or on the Contact Date. The match does not need to be scheduled by the Contact date, but both parties need to have communicated to each other by this date to begin the scheduling process. If no communication is made prior to this date, then the Away team is eligible to score the match as a default.
HOWEVER, we recommend that all teams contact their opposing teams at the beginning of the season to begin scheduling their matches. |

| 6. Matches can be played in any order or at any time during the duration of the season. A suggested play-date is given, but matches may be scheduled and played in any order during the season timeframe. However, teams need to contact their opposing teams by the Contact Date of each match to schedule the match(see Rule #5).
|

7. Coaching is illegal. Advice on scoring, line calls, etc. is not acceptable – no exceptions!

8. If, for unforeseen circumstances, the home team is unable to provide its home courts for a scheduled Simple8 match, the visiting team has the first option of providing its home courts. The host team is considered the home team. If the visiting team does not elect to provide its home courts, the responsibility reverts to the home team which must provide courts within the approved area at the scheduled time. If alternate courts cannot be found, the home team will default to the opposing team. The opposing team will be awarded 3 points.

9. All division winners should move to the next highest level when registering for a new season if registering with the same partner.

10. If teams have assembled to play and the match is delayed or interrupted by inclement weather, teams should be prepared to agree on an alternate date and time. If an agreement cannot be reached, teams will then wait one half-hour to determine if courts are playable. Both teams can agree to wait longer or to reschedule.

11. If temperature is above 95 degrees or below 32 degrees Farenheit before a match is started, and both teams agree to play, the match may be played. All players have the right to post-pone the match due to temperature.

12. In the event of rain, a match may be halted if at least one player is uncomfortable playing in wet conditions. All incomplete matches must be resumed at the exact game and point as they were when halted.

13. Warm-up is limited to 10 minutes including practicing serves.

14. A 20 minute default rule is in effect for all scheduled matches. If a team does not arrive within 20 minutes of the schedule start time for the match, then the on-time team can take the match by Default.

15. Game balls will be provided by the Home Team. No exchange of balls at the completion of the match is necessary.

16. Any court fees, if required, will be paid by the Home Team. The exception would be the use of an indoor court because of rain, or a court at a half-way point - then the agreement to split the costs must be agreed upon by both teams prior to play.
