| Q. |
How is responsible for tennis balls and court fees for a match ?
| A. |
The home team is in charge of providing the game balls and for the accrual of any court fee if it is the home court that requires a fee. The exception would be the use of an indoor court because of rain, or a court at a half-way point - then the agreement to split the costs must be agreed upon by both teams prior to play.
In addition, no exchange of balls is necessary at the completion of the match.

| A. |

|   |
| Q. |
When are matches played ?
| A. |
It is up to you and your opponents to schedule your matches any time that is convenient to both of you. We provide a recommended play-date to keep things organized, however there is no deadline for each match. However, all matches must be played by the last day of the season.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |
I'm trying to register for a doubles league and I don't see my partner listed. Why ?
| A. |
The most likely cause is that your partner has not signed up with Simple8 Tennis. Contact them to create their profile and then you can select them as a partner (or vice versa).
Another reason could be that they have already registered for the same league you are registering for, using a different partner.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |
Who schedules the match and when ?
| A. |
Each match has a Contact Date associated with it. Either the Home team or Away team can (and should) make contact with the other team prior to the Contact Date.
Ultimately it is the responsibility of the Home Team to make contact with the Away Team prior to or on the Contact Date. The match does not need to be scheduled by the Contact date, but both parties need to have communicated to each other by this date to begin the scheduling process. If no communication is made prior to this date, then the Away team is eligible to score the match as a default.
HOWEVER, we recommend that all teams contact their opposing teams at the beginning of the season to begin scheduling their matches.

|   |
| Q. |
How much does it cost to play ?
| A. |
It costs nothing to create a profile on Simple8 Tennis. You can sign up and see what leagues we have open for absolutely no cost. Players pay when they register to play for a specific league. Currently it is $10 per player to play. So if you are registering for Singles it will cost $10, if you are registering for Doubles it will cost $20.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |
How far will I have to drive ?
| A. |
It depends on the number of players in your division. Most matches will be close to you and you usually will not have to drive more than about 20 miles.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |

|   |
|   |

|   |
|   |
| Q. |
Who enters the score after the match ?
| A. |
This winning team will be responsible for logging into Simple8 and updating the score to the match.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |
What if my opponents and I cannot find a time to play before the end of the season ?
| A. |
The team who is most available to play (offers the most playtimes) will take the match. The match will be scored as a Default by the losing team.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |
When will schedules be available ?
| A. |
You will receive an email notification when the schedule has been created. This usually occurs about 1-2 days before the beginning of the season.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |
My partner and I are having difficulty finding a time to play our opponents. It seems that every time we are available, they are not. What do we do in this case ?
| A. |
Since the league is designed to allow a match to be completed in approximately an hour, and the season is 7 weeks to complete the matches, scheduling should not be a huge issue. You have anytime within a seven week window to schedule your 1 hour matches.
If however, you cannot find an agreed upon time to play during the entire season, you may each choose not to play and receive 0 points for an uncompleted match. If there is one team that is more available, that team will take the points as designated under the default rules.
|   |
|   |
| Q. |
I noticed that there are nine players in my division, but I am only scheduled to play six matches. How can we determine a division winner if we are not playing the same players?
| A. |
The number of opponents and the number of matches can vary – it depends on the number of people who are signed up in a league/division.
A division can have anywhere from 5 players minimum up to 11 players maximum. Since the season lasts 7 weeks there is not a way to play every player in your division when the number of players exceeds 7 players.
That is why we base the standings on the number of points won during the season and not based on who beats who. It is possible to have a tie for first place at the end of the season…in that case both teams are considered winners.
